The Pension Awareness Story

Follow the story of how Pension Awareness has got to where it is today: from humble beginnings to a pension extravaganza!

Our story begins with Pension Geeks when, in 2014, the thought of raising awareness about the importance of pensions was born.

It began as just a single day: the 15th September. The idea was to mark a day - Pension Awareness Day - where people could come together and think about what retirement means to them and why it is so important to be engaged with their financial future.

And the idea is still the same, albeit on a larger scale. Now, Pension Awareness Day is the filling in a 5-day event jam-packed with pension topics.

We provide free, impartial and practical help for tackling primary pension problems, as well as other money matters like savings, debt and budgeting. It's all done online, it's all straightforward, and it's all free. Because Pension Awareness believes - genuinely believes - that everyone should have a brilliant retirement.

We use innovative ways to talk about money. From live TV shows to vlogs on social media. Quirky Q&As, mind-blowing blogs and simply straightforward videos about pensions, financial wellbeing and other money matters.

We've gone from strength to strength - so much so that this year (2023), we're celebrating 10 years of Pension Awareness! We've attracted major support from some of the industry's biggest names leading us to work together with more supporters, sponsors, and ambassadors than ever before.

But, most importantly, we have more you.

We hope to reach more people than ever before with Pension Awareness, and we can't wait to see the activities unfold when we kick off on the 11th September.
